Yes, the Museum of Science and Industry, located at 57th and Lake Shore Drive. This building was the Palace of Fine Arts during the Colombian Expedition of 1893. After the expedition ended, this building became the first home for the Field Museum from 1894 to 1920 before moving into its current location on the south end of Grant Park. This building was scheduled for demolition in 1921 before being saved because of its good "bones" for renovation. But renovation was slow due to funding. The building was officially named the Museum of Science and Industry in 1929 modeled after an interactive museum in Germany. Although named with purpose, the museum took another five years to open.
