The Rocky Mountains in the U.S. are in the West. The Rockies traverse from northernmost British Columbia, Canada (or all the way from north-west Alaska and through the Yukon and Northwest Territories, according to some), southward through Montana (and along Idaho), Wyoming, and Colorado, all the way to New Mexico. The Rocky Mountain range, from New Mexico to B.C., Canada is about 3,000 miles long; the Rockies are up to 400 miles wide in places. You may see Related Links for a map showing the Rockies' extent.
