The Gariep Dam is situated on the Orange River in South Africa, near the border with the Free State and Eastern Cape provinces. It is the largest reservoir in the country and serves multiple purposes, including water supply, irrigation, and hydroelectric power generation. The dam is located approximately 30 kilometers northeast of Colesberg.
