The delta point of a river is always found at it's outlet point, to the sea. A delta is where the river branches out in a triangle, with multiple outlets to the sea or ocean. Delta, from the Greek letter of the same name, is shaped like a triangle - and this is how most river deltas look from above.

The Nile Delta flows into the southeastern Mediterranean Sea, north of Cairo.
