the best beach in New Jersey is without a doubt, LONG BEACH ISLAND, anywhere on the island is great, holgate at the bottom is small and quiet, only a handful of commercial buildings, a deli, a small restaurant , the tippy top is barnaget light with the light house and AMAZING views of the inlet and ocean. beach haven is in the middle , this is the epicenter of family fun & nightlife. the island is 17 miles long and this portion is about 2 miles long. there are multiple FANTASTIC restaurants , Chicken or the Egg , Tuckers, slice of heaven Pizza (the steak pizza is to die for) and the chowda hut, the list goes on. there are lots of cool beach shops, kids will love the Fantasy Island amusement area. big enough for a little kid to feel like he is at disneyland, small enough for the parents to keep an eye on everyone and NOT spend tons of money. the homes on this island range from the biggest mansions to the smallest little bungalows that are so cute. the beaches are not crowded at all because the island is so small (from bay to ocean) there are not as many people per beach block, as opposed to Ocean city , where at some streets , there ,are 10 blocks of houses between bay & ocean. it is the perfect little beach town. I have been up & down the jersey shore and LBI by far is the BEST !!! P.S. if you like fudge, Lucilles (big pink building) is out of this world
