Hansome Lake also known as Ganioda'yo, he lived from 1735 until 10 August 1815. He was one of the Seneca religious leaders of the Iroquois people. He was also half-brother to Cornplanter.

Handsome Lake was a prominent Seneca leader and religious figure who lived primarily in what is now western New York. He was born around 1735 in the area near the Genesee River and spent much of his life among the Seneca Nation. Handsome Lake is best known for his role in the revitalization movement of the Iroquois culture and for establishing the Longhouse Religion in the late 18th century. His teachings and influence extended throughout the Iroquois Confederacy.
