How do you destroy a Ouija board?
Assuming that you believe that a ouija board has some sort of supernatural powers (which is a subjective belief), there is some debate on the proper disposal: --- 1) If it has an evil spirit in it, the best way to get rid of it is to burn it outside of your house. If not and you just want to get rid of it the best way to do that is to just throw it in a dumpster far away from your house. If you have any ghosts from it in the house try burning white sage it really works to get rid of spirits. --- 2) DO NOT under any circumstance, burn the board! You need to purify the board with salt, holy water, holy oil, etc. You can put the board in a box with a thick layer of salt and then pour another thick layer of salt on top of it. Leave the open box out in the sun all day but make sure no one can come by and take it. Before the sun sets, you can bring it in the house, then sell it, trash it, give it away or whatever. DO NOT burn it or rip it or destroy it in any way before you cleanse or purify it. If you happen to miss bringing it in before the sun sets, leave it outside. Dont bring it in the house, even if someone else might steal it. Burning sage is also a good idea just in case. --- To get rid of a ouija board, you should cleanse it (salt, holy water, holy oil, etc) and wrap it in or with a neutralizing cloth or object (directly against the board). (By the way, yes the cleansing materials much touch the board directly.) Cleansing the board purifies it as well as temporarily neutralizes it, which is why a strictly neutralizing item or cloth is needed afterwards so that it will not have a chance to reactivate. After you have done all this, you can sell it, give it away, keep it in storage, or just throw it away. (The neutralizing items MUST go with the board so that it is kept neutral and unusable.) Do not, under ANY circumstances, try to destroy the board. No burning, no breaking, nothing! I say this because the ouija board is essentially a portal through which spirits come, and if you destroy it you would possibly be in for a world of negativity. When broken or burned, the portal is not destroyed along with the board -- instead, it is like you've permanently opened the portal and ANYTHING can get through without any hindrance. As long as the board is neutralized and closed, the portal is closed. ---
