A bunch of stuff - residents of Metru Nui discover that Mata Nui is not only sleeping, but is dying. The turaga send the Toa Nuva to get the mask of life, Mata Nui's only hope of survival, in Voya Nui. They are captured by the Piraka, a gang of Skakdi, causing a group of matoran to go look for them. They become the Toa Inika, who fight off the Piraka and free the Toa Nuva. The Inika and Piraka then descend to retrieve the Inika, where they face its guardians in battle. Will matoro ever come back to life?
If you look at the back of the last BIONICLE comic of 2008 ( #15 ) you will see a confused looking toa that looks like the form of a toa inika. I first assumed it was Jaller Inika because of the resemblence of the design on the back of the mask. But I looked closely at the arms and saw that they were the same type Nuparu has on for his arms. I referred back to the head but found no "authentic spiky mohawk" like Nuparus. Only one toa Inika fits the description - MATORO! - If the toa shown IS Matoro then I imagine that when he became pure energy to save mata nui, his soul was trapped in the mask along with the great spirit, but when the mask hit Bara magnas surface, The energies were released letting out Matoro - in his Inika form for some reason - Along with someone else SPOILER ALERT : 8989 Toa Mata nui. But if it is some odd coincidence reflecting negatively upon Matoros return, will Matoro return by other means? Aslan was resurrected by Edmunds honesty and courage, and Gandalf the Gray returned to aid the fellowship once more.
