2008 estimates = 3.9 billion people in Asia.

The world population is about 6-7 billion and asian's make up for about 30 percent of that.

So 30 percent of 6.5 billion is 1.95 billion.

(please note these are older estimate and not all taken from the same time period so information could be a bit off but it generally gives the answer which is No, there are not more people in ASian's then there are people in Asia. )
