Jamaica Hope cattle is a dairy breed that originates from Hope Farm in Jamaica. Breeding of this type of cattle started in 1910. It was actually an attempt to develop a breed that can adjust to the climate in the island. The cattle has high tolerance for heat, to ticks, and to tick-borne disease. It is also known as Jersey-Zebu or Montgomery-Jersey.
