Absolutely! Goats love people, especially if raised by them or around them. The friendliest of all goats are those that have been bottle-fed by hand. But even if dam-raised (by their mama) they are innately curious about people and trusting as well. They will follow you around in a herd, esp. if you give them treats like fruits, vegetables and grain. They make wonderful barnyard pets and the babies are adorable and very cuddly.
the are friendly and can live long
Yes, goats can make wonderful pets. They are social animals that can be friendly and affectionate towards their owners. However, goats do have specific care requirements and need adequate space to roam and graze.
Goats are more friendly and their milk is nicer. And if you aren't a vegetarian their meat is supposed to be very tasty and its really healthy. You can also keep goats for fibre or show.

Goats generally live between 10 to 18 years, although some can live into their early 20s. They reach maturity and start breeding between 4 to 12 months of age, depending on the breed. Male goats, known as bucks, can breed year-round, while female goats, known as does, have a breeding season usually in the fall.

A herd of goats(And yes, I've heard of goats.... )
No, goats need to be kept in well-fenced paddocks. They are generally friendly and will usually come back to you if they think you have food, but if you were to just let them loose in a large area without fences, they'd probably be gone before long as they can travel quite large distances in a day. Escaped goats quickly turn feral, and can be quite destructive. Good fences (which are regularly checked and repaired, because goats are incredible escape artists!) are a must.
Boer goats are primarily meat goats.
