All Druze men and all Circassian men are similarly drafted (but without a religious exception). Druze is a unique religion that diverged from Shiite Islam around 1000 years ago. Circassians are a Caucasus ethnic group who practice Islam. Additionally, a large number of Bedouins (who are Muslim) as well as small numbers of Christian-Israelis and ethnic Palestinian Muslim Israelis volunteer for the IDF.
