Charles Cornwallis
The two colonies that lay between Georgia and Cornwallis's final destination, which was Yorktown, Virginia, are South Carolina and North Carolina. Cornwallis moved his troops through these colonies during his campaign in the southern theater of the American Revolutionary War, ultimately leading to his surrender at Yorktown in 1781.
