Did the us and Mexico benefit from the agreements?

Not embarking into a bitter debate of why is Mexico beneficial to the US, as the Mexican-American relationship is a very complex one. However, some highlights of such relationship would be:

Mexico is one of the few countries that still buy products "Made in the USA".

Mexico provides for cheap labor in the form of illegal immigrants. This might not be that good, but if the US government tolerates them, it probably means it is good for corporations and industries that depend on them.

Most of Mexican oil, silver and other mineral resources are imported by the US industries.

Many Americans love to travel to Mexico, as it is a cheap tourist destination.

Many Americans, specially retirees, spend their latter years living in Mexico, because of cheaper real state prices.

At the very least, it allowed cheaper imports for American consumers, while providing jobs for export-oriented industries in Mexico. Now, there are pros and cons of any such agreement, but nowadays it seems to be successful, increasing trade between the US and its two partners from US$337 billion in 1993 to US$1.2 trillion in 2011 (annual increase of almost 20%).

The US benefited at the expense of Mexico: it acquired the whole states of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, as well as parts of Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma and Kansas.
