I've made several corporate moves with husband and children in tow. The practicality of the matter is that moves are expensive and there are usually financial surprises, even when you have jobs in hand. So, in addition to the argument that you would like to move, you need to account for reasons that are in your parents' interest. These things might include being near to family and friends, employment and cost of living. For you, a move might affect your life for less than ten years, but for them, it is their life. If you want to go to a university in another state, but do not want to pay out of state costs, you might work a couple of years before enrolling. You can catch up with good friends who moved when you have the means to pay for travel and then return to your current place.
