There are several instances of such influence, as nowadays Mexico belongs to the so-called western civilization:

Mexico was first explored, conquered and settled by Spanish conquistadors during the 16th century. Mexico remained an overseas territory of the Spanish Crown for the following 3 centuries, adopting several Spanish cultural traits, including language and religion.

Due to the Bourbon Reforms (end of the 17th century), increased taxes and loss of autonomy generated resentment among the colonists. The Peninsular Wars (1807-1814) between Spain, France and Portugal prompted the secession of all their colonies, including Mexico, which won its independence in 1821.

Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, both France and England had a great influence on Mexican Culture, as both were considered the most important nations in this regard.
