There are some 45 million Hispanics in the United States. Although not all of them qualify as Mexican, some common cultural traits among these people have found their way into the US society and culture. For instance, most Hispanic people have Spanish as native tongue, and many of them are unable or unwilling to learn English. Therefore, many signs and warnings throughout the United States have dual inscriptions in English as well as in Spanish.

Other cultural influences from Mexico to the United States would be:

Tex-Mex food is very common, specially among southwestern states. This type of food includes dishes such as fajitas, guacamole and tacos.

Many Mexican words have found their way into the general US vocabulary. For instance: plaza, guacamole, pronto, Spanglish.

The Cinco de Mayo is widely celebrated among the US however its origin is 100% Mexican.
