To program the Lincoln Town Car FOB (remote) you first need all the remotes you want to work with that car.

1) Put the key in the ignition.

2) Turn the key on till the dash gauges light up. Here's the trick: you need to turn the key from OFF to ON 3 times very quickly! You will know you done this correctly if your door locks lock and unlock by themselves.

3) Once you hear the door locks cycle, you need to push the lock button on your remote or remotes if you have more than one. You should see the locks working from the remote at this time.

Note: It is necessary to program all remotes to this vehicle at the same time, because any remotes that have been programed to this vehicle in the past will no longer work!

You only have a short time before the program mode of the vehicle resets, so be ready.

That's it, you just take out the key and you're done.

1) Gather all key fobs you want to program to your car. (I suggest buying used fobs from a salvage yard. Ford charges around $40-80 for a new one; a scam many people fall for. Most any similar-looking Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda fob will work. Maximum 4 fobs per vehicle.)

2) Get in the car, and insert the key.

3) In 10 seconds or less, rotate the key back and forth from Off to On eight times, leaving the key On the eighth turn. The doors will lock and unlock to signal Programming Mode.

4) Press a button; any button, on the fob. The doors will again lock and unlock to signal that the fob has been programmed successfully. Do this for each fob in 20 seconds or less.

5) Turn the key Off. The doors will again lock and unlock to signal that Programming Mode has been turned off.

Now test each fob to ensure it works. If any fobs do not work, you will have to repeat the process for *all* fobs.

Up to 4 transmitters must be programmed at the same time.

1. Enter the factory keyless entry code. (not personal code)

2. Press the 1/2 button

3. Press one button on each of the transmitters to be programmed. Each transmitter button must be pressed within 7 seconds of the prior one. Each time a transmitter is successfully programmed, all of the vehicle doors will lock and then unlock to verify programming.
