How do you register a gun in Nevada?

You can sell a handgun to anyone that lives in the same state that can legally possess the gun. You can sell a handgun in TN to another individual if you both live in TN by giving the person the gun and taking the money. There is no requirement for any paperwork, contrary to popular belief. You can, if you choose to, go to a gun store and process a transfer through the gun store. That is not in any way required by law in TN. Most gun shops will process "off the street" transfers, but a few will not, and there will be a fee of some kind, usually $25 to $100 depending on the shop.

Nevada does not require registration of firearms, with the exception of Clark County. Handguns (only) that will be in that county 60 days or more must be registered with the local police depaertment. See the link below for information on that process. Rifles and shotguns have no registration requirement, nor do other counties in Nevada.

Nevada does not have licensing to own, nor registration- like MOST of the US. You may sell it to another resident of Nevada so long as they are an adult, and you do not have reason to believe they are unable to legally own a gun. You may sell it to a dealer in any state. You CANNOT sell a handgun to a resident of a state other than Nevada unless they are a dealer. You can put an ad in the paper, or list it on one of the on-line firearm auction sites. Again, ship only to a dealer if the winner is in another state.
