To remove heater core AC lines, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the coolant from the cooling system and use an appropriate tool to disconnect the AC lines from the heater core. Be cautious of any residual refrigerant and wear safety goggles. Finally, remove any retaining clips or bolts securing the lines and pull them away gently from the heater core.
You will need to remove the anti-freeze from your 1997 Chevrolet Venture cooling system. Remove the water lines from the heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.
To remove the heater core on a 1992 Grand Marquis, first remove the dash board. Then remove the AC box to have access to the heater core.
The heater core is behind the AC evaporator core. You must remove the panel with the venting on the passenger side. Then you must disconnect the two AC fittings inside the engine firewall. It is lo cated behind the dash. There is no short cut or fast way to replace it. The dash has to come out to access the heater box and replace the core. So the steps in replacing the heater core are to evacuate the freon out of the AC system, disconnect the heater hoses, disconnect the AC lines and AC drier from the evap core fittings, remove the dash, remove the entire AC/heater box, open the top of the case and replace the core. Reassembly is in the reverse order as disassembly. Recharge the AC system, fill the cooling system with new coolant, and burp the air form the cooling system.

Heater core is located inside the H/AC "suitcase". It can be a chore, but you're best bet is to remove the 'suitcase' and remove the heater core once the suitcase is on the ground.
The heater core and AC system aren't connected.. the only component of the AC system located near the heater core is the evaporator.. so long as you don't try, say, prying out the heater core carelessly, there's nothing it should do to the AC system.

You will be better off if you buy a service manual or borrow one from a library. You have to drain the freon, remove the entire dash, remove the heater/ac housing, and dissassemble the housing to access the heater core.
