Average cost is difficult to predict. Ireland is definitely not the cheapest destination in Europe. You will need per day for two persons €100 to €150 depending on how much luxury you want. It is hard to find douible room in a hotel for less than €80. The good news is that you can do lots of thing in Dublin for which you don't have to pay a penny. (see link below)
