Pangaea is the name given to the super continent formed about 500 million years ago.
About 200 million years ago, Pangaea split into two halves, the northern one Laurasia, and the southern one Gondwana. This included all the southern land masses, as well as India and the Arabian Peninsula, and including Madagascar and New Zealand.
The break up continued, and India broke away and headed north to collide with the Asian Tectonic Plate.

Both Australia and Antarctica are island continents, but they are not "islands". They are too big to be formallyclassified as an island. The world's largest island is Greenland. The reason why Australia and Antarctica are continents is because they sit on their own tectonic plates. This is different from Greenland, which uses the same land mass as North America. A place like Greenland shares the same geologic attributes as North America.Australia and Antarctica are the only two true Continental Islands. That is, they are separated from all other continents by water. All other continents are connected by a landmass to at least one other Continent. If there are any waterways, they have been artificially created.

No, the continents have not always been in the same place. Due to the process of plate tectonics, the continents have moved over geologic time scales. This movement has resulted in the formation of supercontinents and the current configuration of continents.
Australia and Antarctica
Continents are divided on the bases of land( area) and population. There are 7 different continents in the world: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antartica, Enrope and Australia( off course they are mentioned in largest to lowest). If we consider only 6-continent world, then the Euroasian(Europe and Asia) is the largest. The continent are separated either by water, land.
Asia and Europe are the two continents that are not separated by a body of water. They are connected by land, with boundaries that have been traditionally defined based on cultural and historical differences rather than geographical separation by a body of water.
There are currently seven continents on Earth: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, and South America.
Wild cats are found on all continents except Antarctica and Australia. However, Australia does have some cat-like marsupials.
