In Italy there are no county. There are 20 more or less large territorial entities called Regions. Each Region includes a certain number of other territorial entities based upon of the number of important cities, called Provinces, which

roughly may be compared with a County.

For example: Region Tuscany includes 10 Provinces, each one bearing the name of its most important city. They are (in alphabetical order): Arezzo, Florence, Grosseto, Leghorn, Lucca, Massa-Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato, Siena.
