In general, if you drop a letter in the mail on Monday morning in Texas it should be delivered by Wednesday afternoon in New Jersey. At a minimum, it takes one overnight to sort the mail onto the interstate shipping truck, one day to sort at a processing center, another overnight to get to the delivering post office then the rest of that day to be dropped in the recipient's mail box. However, if you want to be sure a letter is delivered by a certain day, you should add another day onto the delivery timeline.
