Growing up we drove from Eau Claire to Fairbanks two or three times every year. Total DRIVE TIME is about 60 hours. Add on your hotel stays, repairs or visits. The 60 hours does include getting gas, stopping for a quick meal and such.

We usually drove around the clock - not something I'd do again.

Also, this was in the day of 55 mph speed limit and we would go into Canada because the speed limit there used to be higher than the U.S. Driving it today I would go across to Missoula, Montana and then up through Calgary, Edmonton and into Alaska. Probably shave 5 to 10 hours off of the entire trip.
