You cannot drive the Channel Tunnel. It carries trains only. You can however load your car onto the train and transport it. However the speed limit is generally 130 km/hr so you can make very good time. Also be aware that a car you rent in the U.K. will almost certainly be right-hand drive but France uses left-hand drive, like the U.S. and Canada.
