In Canada and the US we make a set amount per route run. For example, if you do a morning run of a bus load of elementary school children and another with say, High School kids you might make as much as $40 for the run. It all depends on how long it takes, distance and how many kids you take.

During the rest of the day a school bus driver can make more money doing charters (school trips, company outings etc) or doing kindergarden take homes or take in's.

Generally speaking a driver can make as little as $200/week to as much as $400 to $500/week!

Unless it's a union shop, there are usually no benefits.

We also don't get paid for PD days, or the school breaks, (Winter, Spring and Summer). We do get paid if a snow day is called. We get all paid holiday's except for those that fall in the summer off season.
