About one quarter.
Because Barrow is above the Arctic Circle the sun never rises there in winter, but it isn't totally dark. Much of the time it is twilight and there is still the light of the stars and sometimes the moon.
Alaska is the state that is farther north than both Washington and Oregon. While Washington and Oregon are located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, Alaska extends much farther north and includes regions above the Arctic Circle.
Technically, both polar regions -- above the Arctic Circle and below the Antarctic Circle -- are equal. However, Antarctica occupies the larger landmass, of the two, covering about 10% of the earth's surface.
The answer will depend on where the house will be build: the amount of insulation required above the Arctic circle, for example, will be greater than that required in a more temperate region. The answer will depend on where the house will be build: the amount of insulation required above the Arctic circle, for example, will be greater than that required in a more temperate region. The answer will depend on where the house will be build: the amount of insulation required above the Arctic circle, for example, will be greater than that required in a more temperate region. The answer will depend on where the house will be build: the amount of insulation required above the Arctic circle, for example, will be greater than that required in a more temperate region.
No, it is much further south than the Arctic Circle.
There are no reindeer in Antarctica, only in the Arctic. You would be much more likely to find reindeer near the Arctic. It is logically impossible to find a mammal living in the Antarctic Circle. Although reindeer would be able to survive in the Antarctic Circle, they would soon develop hypothermia.
its close to the arctic circle.
Because it doesn't get much direct sunlight.
"yes it is cold year round because polar bears and penguines live there" First off Penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere, so the earlier statement above is not true. Second off it depends on where you live in Alaska, Alaska is a very large state. If you live above the Arctic Circle chances are it will always be cold. But if you live in places below you can get warm temperatures. In Fairbanks during the summers they have forest fires because of the heat, which can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. But their winters can reach negative 30 easily as well. Anchorage has much milder summers with less sun and less extreme winters. Also polar bears only live above the Arctic Circle where it is always cold for them. Now all this you have to remember does depend on your definition of cold.
