There are several ways of traveling from Delhi to Hyderabad.
1. By Air: Several airlines offer direct flights between the two cities. All-inclusive fares would start at about INR 2500 and can go up to INR 10000. One could check the websites of individual airlines or a travel portal like www.yatra.com or www.cleartrip.com to compare schedules, fares and airlines. Direct flights should take no more than 2 hours of flight time.
2. By Train: Indian Railways operate about 21 trains a week between the two cities. The travel time could vary between 21 hours by the fastest train (The Rajdhani Express) and 30 hours. Fares start at about INR 500 (for a bare-essentials-only non-air conditioned berth) to INR 4000 (first-class air-conditioned coupe in the Rajdhani Express). Train schedules (and online booking option) are available at www.erail.in or www.irctc.co.in.
3. By Road: If one is driving, one could take the route of the North-South corridor which would be a minimum 4-lane expressway in a few more years. The route is from Delhi to Agra by National Highway 2; Agra-Gwalior NH3; Gwalior-Jhansi NH75; Jhansi-Lakhandon NH26; Lakhandon-Hyderabad NH7. The total distance is around 1500km and a single driver should be able to do it in 2 full days (night-time driving is not recommended in India).
