In Ohio at the age of 16 a person may get a probationary driver's license provided they have passed the necessary requirements. This probationary driver's license allows a 16 year-old to drive with one non-family member only unless they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian WITH A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE. A 16 year-old is not permitted to drive between the hours of midnight and 6am unless traveling directly to/from work, school, school sponsored event.

A person with a probationary driver's license should have read and understood the above as part of the process of getting that license.
