Depending on how you mean the question, Europe is in both the Northern hemisphere (above the equator) and the Eastern hemisphere (east of the Prime Meridian). Since the Prime Meridian bisects the UK, several European countries (including Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and Iceland) technically have most or all of their territory in the Western Hemisphere. However, by tradition all of Europe is considered to be part of the eastern half of the planet.
