The Antarctic Treaty keeps Antarctica frozen from being "sovereign" per se, but it is technically counted as its own individual entity. It is also a continent (obviously) and any territorial claim by any country is not recognized by the majority of the international community due to the Treaty. So, to get back to your question, it is a state within its own right, but cannot be sovereign due to lack of government, military, etc. If you had to list countries of the world, you could add Antarctica to that list because it does have its own country code as mentioned above.
