Is China's population evenly distrubuted from east to west?

It is absolutely standard for the population of a country to be concentrated along and close to the sea and waterways, as in China. (Compare with the U.S. in this respect). It is also because the Western side of China has many mountain ranges and there is not enough Natural Resources for people to live. That is why China's population is gathered to the far East, where they have enough resources both from land and water.

No. There is a desert in the west that covers half of China. Not many people live their because it's such a harsh climate. Therefore, most people live in the east. People tend to congregate where water is located. Most of China's population is located near its large rivers or the Pacific Ocean.

The population of East Africa isn't spreading more evenly throughout the region because few people live in the deserts, highlands, and mountains. Also because people crowd into the lowland and coastal areas, where it is easier to live and grow food.
