"Middle East" is not a country but a region that is not clearly defined politically. Many areas of the Middle Eastern region are extremely poor and poverty stricken, especially for women and children; Yemen is a good example. However, several areas and countries, like UAE, are wealthy thanks to oil exports and tourism. It is not fair nor accurate to claim that the "Middle East" is poor or not. That is the equivalent of asking if the Americas are poor? The US is very wealthy while many South American states are terribly poor.

No! Israel is not a poor country! it has a strong economy, it is a member of OCED, and in the last financial crisis Israel was one of the first countries who recuperated from it and showed a positive trend.

Israel is not poor country but not one of the richest countries in the world, it doesn't have many Natural Resources but have a strong human assets (human capital), the best brains in our world are "made in Israel". there are many scientist, inventor and High-Tech companies in Israel.

some time there are people who assume USA dollars come into Israeli citizens pockets but it is a huge lie, The money from US spends on security things such as developing of weapons which is one of the big industry in Israel.

Most of the Israelis do work, they work really hard and getting less money than they would get if they were citizen in a west European country plus the lives in Israel are really expansive, it is one of the most expensive countries in the world, but its people doing well with it.

all and all you can find poor people in Israel and very rich people like in any other western state!
