London England is recognised as one of the highest transit cities in the Northern Hemisphere. Heathrow Airport, alone, had over twenty-four million transit passengers (passengers not stopping in London, but continuing on to a destination outside of the United Kingdom).
Added to these numbers are additional major international transit points such as Gatwick Airport (eleven million) and the international connection point for all rail service travelling to the continent via the Channel Tunnel (Eurostar).
Further development is underway to ease transit passengers arriving at Heathrow and connecting to Hi-speed rail service to points north and south via St Pancras Station in London.
