Is Pakistan a democracy why?

Pakistan is a democratic country because their government don't give them the right to vote also to express in a peaceful way they don't have the independent juges. S it is shur that they are not a democratic country but a non democratic country

The people did not come upon democracy iin their own time. It was forced on them by the americans. Id be pretty resistent to if someone forced their way of llife on me. O wait I live in american ppl try to do that all the time and it pisses me off. Imagin how the pakistani ppl, feel.

Pakistan is, technically, a democracy. Elections are held, and multiple candidates may be chosen from. However, it is believed that there has been a significant pattern of corruption in the electoral process in Pakistan, for years now. Much of the government's actual power is under military control (rather than having a strong system of civilian governmental level of checks and balances, as we have here in the U.S.). It does not appear that this will change anytime soon - but one can always hope!

Currently, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is the most poweful military leader (and probably overall leader) in Pakistan. The U.S. military has cultivated a strong relationship with, especially through the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen. Although politics in Pakistan is a mutable and ever-changing landscape, the military is a constant, with which the U.S. has pinned its policy hopes on (as well as developing mutual miliatry strategy and tactics in the region).

But, due to corruption, low education and military influence, it's not real democracy like UK or US.
