Recently the golden globe and Oscar winner was in Nigeria to visit his ancestral land. A couple of years back, he found his true identity after a DNA test was conducted and his roots were traced to Nkwere village in Imo state- Eastern Nigeria. The king of Nkwere land and the 20 cheives representing all the tribes there welcomed Forest Whitaker in the traditional way and gave him a cheiftancy title. it was a really emotional time for Whitaker and his friend Danny Glover, another Hoolywood star who was also given a cheftancy title as well. I was present there though it took me a while to believe i was. thank God i took alot of pictures. So, YES, Forest Whitaker is a NIGERIAN. We are truly proud.
