I am not certain but the earlier answer is definitely wrong. This is because Pakistani transit codes have 7 digits, unlike US codes, which have 9. In addition, Pakistani codes are institution-based, unlike US codes, which are geographic. For example, the code for any bank in Pakistan will be first 3 digits for bank and last 4 for branch. An example is City Branch, UBL Karachi, where I bank: 0860605. All branches of UBL nationwide would start with 086, and each branch would have different last 4 digits. In contrast, in USA, all codes are based on Federal Reserve zone, so UBL New York would start with 02 plus 7 digits and UBL Los Angeles (if it existed) would start with 12.
