Where is the difference between Sicilians and Italians?

Sicily is an island in the Mediterranean Sea, part of Italy as a nation, but with its own cultural/regional identity. Sicilians are from or live in Sicily, the Island explained above. Being a region of Italy, when you say Italians you mean the whole country, Sicily included. With 'Sicilians' you refer to that specific island. It's like saying for ex. English or British, Bostonian or American.

If your Sicilian are you black?

They are a mixed race. Sicily was an independent country that had its own language and government that were mixed from Greek, Arabic, and northern African influences and it eventually got conquered by Italy. They are normally concidered caucasians and whites but in a sense they are their own race/color.

Most Italians I know are not dark and usually have either light hair and or light eyes so why do some people categorize Italians as dark when they actually aren't any darker then other europeans?

HARDLY all Italians are "dark". Most of them appear light skinned with brown hair and eyes. Some are blond with blue eyes, etc. They vary in appearance like anyone else. Sicilians are generally darker but there are still many light skinned, light haired people among them. Italians are best known for their swarthy exotic look in the USA due to Sicilian influence in American culture - Spanish and Portugese immigrants are not too common in North America. And remember - Italians are CAUCASIANS. Distant moorish blood does not alter this. If every country in Europe with olive skinned people in it were considered non-white, half the continent would be non-white.
