There are many hotels in Costa Rica, ranging in ratings and size. Some of the most known hotels are the Hotel Grana de Oro and the Four Seasons Resort.
"Costa Rica resorts vary in size, the tourism industry thrives enough to support whatever size the resort deemed necessary. Travelers will be capable of finding resorts that suit their specific needs and desires."
According to the CIA - "The World Factbook" and the U.S. Dept. of State, Costa Rica encompasses an area of 51,100 sq. km (19,730 sq. mi.). About the size of the states of Vermont and New Hampshire combined or just shy of the size of West Virginia. Bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama at the southern border. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/2019.htm https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/cs.html
by width i am to assume that you mean the distance from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea, that is roughly 76 miles at its narrowest point (122 kilometers) and 172 miles (276 kilometers) at its apparent widest point (from Punta Guiones the westernmost point in Costa Rica to around the area of Barra Del Colorado in the Caribbean side). It is substantially 'wider' than Panama which is perhaps the reason the Panama Canal was built in that country. There was talk of originally building the canal in the Rio San Juan (which divides Costa Rica from Nicaragua) but those plans were abandoned when the area of Panama was deemed more suitable.
