Ireland has a wide range of physical features. Much of the centre of the country is flat, with areas of bogland. Around the coasts are where most of the mountains are found. The western part of the country is particularly rugged with lots of mountains and rocky land. The west coast has a large amount of bays and inlets and small islands. Being on the eastern edge of the Atlantic Ocean, Ireland gets a lot of rain and so it has many lakes and rivers. Another consequence of so much rain is that Ireland is very green and with lots of trees and grasslands, suitable for farming. Ireland doesn't have any really hot and dry areas of land, so there are no deserts in Ireland.
