In New York, the general requirement for sitting in the front seat is that passengers must be at least 13 years old. Additionally, all passengers, regardless of their age, must use a seatbelt. Children under the age of 4 must be secured in a federally approved child safety seat. It's also important that the vehicle's airbag system is not disabled if it has one in the front passenger seat.
Yes that is the proper age
According to the NYS DMV website, a child CAN sit in the front seat of a car, but its not safe. Especially with airbags in the car. Even check out the website!
I don't know about Texas, but a child has to be 100 pounds to be in the front seat in NY. There is no sense in putting them there unless you are sure. They need to be protected.
(I think)
In New York, a child can sit in the front seat of a car when they are at least 13 years old. However, it is recommended that children under the age of 13 ride in the back seat for optimal safety. Additionally, all children must be properly secured in an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat until they reach a certain height or weight. Always check current local laws for any updates or changes.
All children must be restrained in a child restraint system while riding in a motor vehicle in New York until they are 8. New York does not have a law preventing children from sitting in the front seat. They recommend that all children under 12 ride in the back seat.
yes
Yes. It is safe for them as they are in Kindergarden 2 already.
Not without a person over the age of 21 in the car with you (:
California Law requires all children who are 6 years of age or less and weigh less than 60 pounds to be transported in a Child Restraint System. Anyone older or weighs more than that is allowed to sit in front. Now I am only talking about California. I don't know globally. But IMO, what is good for CA is good federally. Thanks
NEVER! Air bags, if deployed, can kill a small child (or seriously injur them). Not a good idea until they are in the teens and tall enough to have their head touch the headrest of the car seat.
In New York, children must be at least 4 years old and weigh more than 40 pounds to ride in the front seat. However, it is recommended that children under 13 years old ride in the back seat for optimal safety. Additionally, all children must use appropriate child safety seats according to their age, weight, and height until they meet the requirements to use a seatbelt alone. Always check for the latest regulations, as laws can change.
