They are called Al-Asbatt (الاسباط) or Boni Asra'il (بني اسرائيل). This refers to the "Twelve Tribes of Israel" as a group and both terms are frequently used in the Qur'an. In the Coptic Bibles, there are names for the twelve tribes themselves (which are not individually singled out in Qur'an). These tribes are named as follows:
