I'm sure that there are more, but "Harding-fele" are a type of violin. This is often used in western parts of Norway during weddings and such. They play a upbeat fast song, and it's a local dance where the groom needs to kick a hat of a stick witch is beeing held high above the ground. Usually around 2 meters.

It is not any sort of requirements for the groom, more of a funny gesture.
