If the differential seizes, it can lead to significant damage in the vehicle's drivetrain, causing issues such as loss of power to the wheels, which can result in loss of control. Additionally, the excessive strain may damage the driveshaft, axles, or transmission, potentially leading to costly repairs. In severe cases, it could also cause the tires to wear unevenly or lead to complete failure of the differential assembly. Prompt diagnosis and repair are crucial to prevent further damage and ensure safe vehicle operation.
Depends how bad its seized. Sometimes you can try to spin the crankshaft and knock it loose. If that works, it should still be torn down to check for cylinder damage. If it seized in the first place, there is internal damage somewhere.
If it is siezed, you must disassemble. That's the only way to avoid additional damage
No.

If you overfill an differential and it does not have a vent or the vent is plugged the oil, when it becomes hot and expands, will blow past the seals causing at a minimum a leak and at worst bearing damage. Always fill the differential to the bottom of the fill hole.
