Both Kenya & Zimbabwe (Formerly Southern Rhodesia) were part of the British Empire. Both Egypt & Sudan were British protectorates within the British Empire. Keyna is a member of the Commonwealth, but I think Zimbabwe is probably now suspended in these troubled times.
The British originally colonised what is now Zimbabwe
At the height of the British Empire in the 19th century, Britain had around 50 colonies including Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Zimbabwe (Rhodesia).
They wanted it because they wanted to expand they're Empire.
Southern Rhodesia, named for Cecil Rhodes
It was known as the British Empire. When the empire started to fall apart, the British Commonwealth/Commonwealth of Nations was created.

There have been a few different Self-governing colonies in the British Empire. One that comes to mind is Southern Rhodesia, known today as Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe, formerly known as Southern Rhodesia, was important to the British Empire primarily for its rich natural resources, including minerals like gold and diamonds, which contributed to Britain's economic interests. The region also served as a strategic agricultural hub, with fertile land for farming. Additionally, it was significant for British imperial expansion in southern Africa, providing a foothold for further colonial endeavors and trade routes. The establishment of settler colonies in Zimbabwe reflected broader patterns of British imperialism during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
