Mt. Rogers in Grayson county. While most of Virginia's mountains range in the 3,000 foot to a little over 4,000 foot range, Mt. Rogers approaches 6,000 ft at 5,729 ft. It is close to a few other peaks that are higher than 5,000 ft. These peaks posses Canadian Spruce-Fir forests that you can't find anywhereelse in Virginia but the highest elevations of the Appalachians.
