Most of them are called Israelis.
== == == == == == == == It was an ancient region of southern Palestine comprising present-day southern Israel and southwest Jordan. There is no connection between Palestinian Arabs and the Philistines. The term 'Palestinian' always referred to both the Jews and the Arabs living there. Jews have been living in that region for the past 3000 yrs - continuously.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They don't, however there is violence between them because the Palestinian leaders refuse to accept Israel's existence and the Jewish population living in the nation.
A colony.
The Palestinian war happen when Israel population united around the globe decided to go back to their ancestors land which Palestinian were living.
That depends on if they are wealthy or poor.
The group is called a "colony,"
Israel is ironically the only country in the Levant region that does not have a single Palestinian Refugee Camp in its entire legitimate territory. Palestinians live in Refugee Camps in Egypt, in the Gaza Strip, in the West Bank, in Jordan, in Syria, and Palestinians in Refugee camps make up roughly 10% of the Lebanese population. Living conditions are extremely varied between the camps. The Lebanese Camps have the most dire situations, often erupting in violence between the Lebanese Army and the members of the camps who have no permission to seek freedom, citizenship, or a stable career.Palestinians in Israel live as citizens of the Jewish State. There are currently roughly 1.3 million Palestinian citizens of Israel and several are members of the Israeli Knesset. They live relatively ordinary lives. There is some discrimination against them in the Israeli system, but through the acts of protests, elections, and freedom of expression, they are capable of discussing how they feel about what Israel should do. Typical of Israelis, grab five Palestinian Israelis, and you will have ten opinions of what these improvements would be.
The Majority of Christians living in the Holy Land are Arabs. Christians living in Israel have Israeli citizenship, however, considered Arabs by the Governments (and their I.D Cards states it clearly) and thus face many discriminative laws. Christians living in the Palestinian territories have a Palestinian "Citizenship" (its not a country yet, hence the brackets). The I.D. issued by the Palestinian authority clearly states "Christian." There also, Christians as a minority face many problems. In the Holy Land, Israel & The Palestinian Territories, Christians make less than 2% of the general population. Native Christians of the Holy Land are Arabs, who are stuck between the hammer and the anvil.
Palestinian Arabs have different opinions on this matter. While 54.8% of Palestinian Arabs living in Judea and Samaria say they support the two- state solution, Arabs in Gaza are fiercely opposed to it. An acting Chairman of the PA Legislative Council and Hamas member Ahmad Bahar warned that accepting a Jewish state was tantamount to betrayal and a crime. "Someone who accepts the Jewishness of the state [of Israel] betrays Allah, his messenger and believers. The significance of the Jewishness of the state is that the Palestinians don't exist. …it means recognizing Jewish existence in the land of Palestine," he said. "Even recognition of two states is a crime against the Palestinian cause. The state that the Jews want is a state in which we will be servants, messengers, of the Jews. And one who accepts this is betraying Allah, his messenger, and [Muslim] believers. We will not accept and not recognize a state for the Jews here on Palestinian land! We will not recognize it!
Aitz Hayim Center for Jewish Living was created in 1994.
At various times the Palestinian people are referred to as refugees. In some cases it's a clear and correct choice. Many Palestinians live as refugees in Jordan or in Gaza. Also, the Palestinians are living in land they claim as their own, that would be Israel. Although they live in a territory they believe is their homeland, the area is now technically speaking, and that's also a reality, living in a nation that is controlled by the Israeli government. In that sense, they could be called refugees. With all that said, the Palestinians living outside of Israel are refugees. As an aside, the term Palestine, is a name given to that territory by the Romans, when they controlled the eastern Mediterranean Sea. They had dispersed the Jews living there as a punishment for the "problems" they caused to the Roman empire under Hadrian.
