A Tartan Skirt which is also called a Kilt is what Scottish men wear in Scotland. Of course, they only wear it on speacial occasions, it is their tradition. The kilt is mostly made of wool. Each famiy (clan) has a different design with different colors on the kilt. The Scottish do not buy a tartan just because they like the color or design, they have to wear the kilt with the pattern of their family or thy will not be able to participate in the Highland Games. The patterns are often hundreds of years old!!
The Scottish also play the Bagpipes. The bagpipes is the typical and traditional instrument in Scotland. In every Highland Games the men participating play the bagpipes before beginning the games.
