I grew up in Narvon so I thinkI'm giving one of the best answers you'll find. Narvon is a strong farming community. Farming and farm related jobs/careers are probably 95% of all jobs in Narvon so most people travel to a local city for work. Narvon also has a historic and still highly profitable clay mine.( Once called Narvon products, until 2005 to current and now has the name Narvon Minerals.) This mine was founded around 1800 and used the rail road to ship 50 lbs of clay in paper bags to destinations as far as Australia (Via ship of course) I know this because my father worked at that mine! My Dad had no proof to show me; but always would tell me the story of when his boss first showed him the paper work for that Australia sale (For a small company, in that time period to get a sale from Australia was a big deal and the founders of the mine handed the paper work down through the generations) Today that mine offers clay so rare it's only found in a few states such as Alabama and Tennessee. Narvon also has a hiking and biking trail in a a very spacious park. Money Rocks park is huge and offers a scenic overlook were you can view the clay mine and see 15 miles on a clear day. Narvon is next door to Intercourse; the famous Amish country section of Lancaster county. If one wants to break away from the group and go hiking and see other parts of the county besides the typical tourist stops I would suggest Narvon for a more quiet joyful experience.
